Steve Frank writes about how a bug can be effectively reported.
I am glad that the few bugs reported in Keep Your Word where reported in a way that were easy and quick to reproduce, and so, easier and quicker to fix.
Believe me, if there is something wrong with any of our apps, we want to fix it.
A quick note to inform of the release of Keep Your Word 1.0.1, a maintenance release that solves most of the bugs that you, the users, have reported. The update can be downloaded just launching the application, or clicking this link.
This is the changelog:
Thanks a lot for all the feedback we have received since the release of Keep Your Word. You all gave us a lot of good ideas that we are willing to implement in the coming releases.
Well, some of you have asked exactly that: will there be an iPhone version of Keep Your Word?
The short answer is: yes.
The long answer is: well, we want to do it, really, we do. However, we don’t know exactly how to do it. Let me explain…
Right now, there is no way (supported, documented, even frameworked way) to sync data between a Mac and an iPhone.
We could develop a standalone client for the iPhone, just an iPhoned version of Keep Your Word, but that is not exactly what we want to do. What we want, is to use the iPhone version as an extension of the desktop version, a short of “exercises notebook” where you could sync a set of words (the size of the set being up to you), and do exercises against that set of data.
Of course, it will be possible to add new words on the go using the iPhone client, but that adds to the problem, which is that right now, there is no way to sync and merge the data.
Of course, we could (will have to) work something out. However, we don’t know how long it will take us.
So, yes, there will be an iPhone version. Sadly, we still can not give an estimated date of release.
