FNDMobile is available

22 October 2008 Categories: bambooapps, fnd

The iPhone version of FND, called, in a burst of imagination and creativity, FNDMobile, is available at the AppStore.

FNDMobile is a database of films and development times, that, out of the box, provides data to start developing 17 different films, with a total of 296 combinations of developer, ISO, and temperatures.

Obviously, you can add your own films and developers, or edit those provided. And, if ou want to, you can also use the built in clock, to start developing with just three touches of the screen.

Check it out!

Hey, thanks for the app. Here is a copy/paste from Rangefinderforum where i heard about the app.

Nice app… I hope there will be updates cause it could be very great. Support it guys. I would have loved to get a faster way to add times, a “note” field, maybe a way to attach a picture. The timer is nice but pretty useless. I would have prefered to have one first sound after 30secs (stop shaking) then one after each minute (so: 30sec, 1min30, 2min30, etc…) as it’s my habit.
It would be great too to be able to flag times as “manufacturer’s official” or “personnal”… as we don’t really know where the times come from right now. Thanks for sharing pal !

    Thanks Renaud

I am a member of RFF myself, but I missed that thread. So, thanks!

Cool app. Been waiting for this. I thought I might have to write it myself, but you saved me the effort. Here’s a few wish list items if you want them.

Agitation time length (ex: 5 seconds editable). With a beep at each second. Also, a visual key would be nice during agitation for anyone who wants to have it be silent, or who can’t hear. Maybe flashes red or something. Could be an option for the user.

Also adding an initial agitation time (first 30 seconds for example) with a visual key would be cool. But not as necessary, just nice for those who might need it.

Pushing and Pulling edits. Adding the ability for each film to easily be pushed or pulled to the user’s selection. Perhaps adding a selection for each film for push or pull? Would certainly be nice for those who don’t shoot roll film and for those of us who regularly push their film.

One other suggestion would be to partner with Digital Truth to publish their database with some sort of API so you could tap into it and gather any new changes. That would include just about every film there is out there and every weird developer ever conceived (even homemade). Might be cool.

Anyway, very cool app. Thanks for taking the time to write it!!

Hi Josh, first of all, thanks for using FNDMobile, and very special thanks for your feedback

All your suggestions seem quite reasonable, and they will be part of the app in the coming future, although still it is a bit early to provide an estimated time when they will be available. I am not sure about the digitaltruth thing though, it is something that is out of my control.

Again, thanks for you feedback, and I hope you enjoy using the app.

THank you for this very useful software.
    Can I give you suggestions?
    1. Would it be possible to download the date onto your computer.
I wouldn’t want everything that I’ve added to the database to be lost if something would happen to my phone.

    2. The times decreases but I’ve never developed backwards this way. Is it possible to have the evolve normally?

    Thanks for your suggestions Scott.

Right now there is no way to export data from the application. However, everytime you sync your iPhone using iTunes a backup is made.
