Vous et Votre Mac, a magazine now in press stands in France, Belgium and Switzerland, publishes a comparison between Keep Your Word, our vocabulary and flashcards trainer, and Mental Case.
Although I think that comparing these two application is a little bit unfair for both of them, as the core functionality and workflow are not exactly the same, it is good to see how KYW gains some apreciation.
¿The verdict? Keep Your Word gets four stars.

Here comes another update to Keep Your Word, the Mac OS X and iPhone vocabulary and flashcards application.
The release notes are here, but long story short, the main new features are:
- New exercise: Printable bingo.
- Multiline flashcards.
- More Smart Groups criteria.
- A few graphs.
- The mandatory bugfixes.
This is a free update. Grab it!
This time, at Mac App Reviews. And it seems that they do not like it too much. Ouch!
Although I do not agree with some of their comments, they also rise some valid points.
Check it out!
FNDMobile, the black and white development database and clock for the iPhone, has been updated.
This is going to be the last “english-only” version. A Spanish localization has been uploaded to the AppStore and is waiting for approval, and we are working on the German localization as well.
If you want to see FNDMobile in your language, please let us know!.
This is a maintenance update, that fixes some bugs mostly related to tag management and to tag-based smart groups as well as to the iPhone sync.
The release notes are here.
Keep Your Word, the vocabulary and flash cards cataloger and trainer for Mac and iPhone has just been updated.
The main new features are:
- Audio support.
- Support for declensions.
- New integrated word inspector.
- New document layout configuration sheet.
- More flashcards options
Anyway, these are the release notes.
Now, it’s time to start thinking about KYW 1.5.1
Keep Your Word 1.5 is almost done, but before releasing it, we are looking for a small team of testers to stress the app for a few days.
If you are interested, all you need to do is contact us and spend some quality time with Keep Your Word 1.5
There are still a few things to be implemented, and too much testing to be done, but Keep Your Word 1.5 is almost done.
These are some of the new features.
Integrated word inspector.

The word inspector is now part of the main interface, and is divided into three different tabs. One of them is dedicated to “media”, and as you can see in the screenshot, it includes audio: two different sound files can be assigned to every word.

The main reason behind dividing the word inspector intro three tabs, is the new support for declesions, meaning: “cards can have multiple sides”.
By the way, the audio files asigned to a word can be played when browsing the flashcards.

And, also, cards can be marked as “I knew it”, or “I had no idea” (I am still looking for a good name for this feature)

These are some of the most important new features, but not the only ones, coming to the next version of Keep Your Word.
If you want to give them a try before the official release, drop us a line.
Well, to be honest, this post’s title should be: “two and a half new iPhone apps”. Anyway, here at bambooapps we have been busy not only working on Keep Your Word 1.5 (soon there will be a post about the actual state of our vocabulary and flash cards app for the Mac and the iPhone, and what you could expect for the future), but also in three small utilities for your iPhones.
The first new app, the “half” one, is called iRankings. It lets you create quick rankings: your favourite love songs, the best action movies, your favourite actors… whatever you want. Quick, and easy.

3Points lets you record the performance of your favourite basketball player, using eight different statistics: minutes played, field goals, three points shots, free throws, assistances, offensive and defensive rebounds and steals.
